Ingredients:

1/2 cup sugar

1/4 cup vinegar

1/2 cup hot water

1 tsp salt
Instructions:

Mix all ingredients until dissolved.

Pour the mixture into the bottom of a plastic bottle.

Cut the top (funnel part) of the bottle off.

Invert it and place it inside the bottom half to form a funnel.

(Optional) Poke a few holes around the top to allow scent to escape.

Set it outside where flies are a problem.
Why it works:
The sweet vinegar solution attracts flies, and once they go in through the funnel, they can’t find their way back out. The salt preserves the liquid and slows decay.
