Preparation Time

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 35–40 minutes
  • Total Time: 50–55 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 large apple (Fuji or any tart variety like Granny Smith)

  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup lemon-lime soda (such as Sprite or 7-Up)

  • Optional: vanilla ice cream, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.

  2. Peel and core the apple, then slice it into 8 equal wedges.

  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.

  4. Wrap each apple wedge with a triangle of dough, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the tip. Pinch the ends to seal.

  5. Place the wrapped apples in the prepared baking dish.

  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sugar and cinnamon, stirring until the mixture is smooth and glossy (about 2–3 minutes).

  7. Pour the butter mixture evenly over the dumplings in the pan.

  8. Gently pour the lemon-lime soda around the edges of the dumplings (not directly on top).

  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the dumplings are golden brown and the sauce is bubbling.

  10. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
