For the Banana Brea
Overripe bananas
Butter
Granulated sugar
Brown sugar
Eggs
Chocolate chips
Flour
Salt
Baking powder
Baking soda
Vanilla extract
Instructions:
Prep: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch metal loaf pan.
Mash Bananas: In a small bowl, thoroughly mash the bananas until smooth.
Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to cream together the butter and both sugars until well combined and fluffy.
Mix Wet Ingredients: Add in the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla, mixing well to combine.
Combine Dry Ingredients: Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt directly into the wet ingredients. Gently fold in until just combined.
Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips into the batter.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool: Allow the bread to cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes :
Ensure your bananas are overripe for the best flavor.
Room temperature ingredients mix more evenly, so let your eggs and butter sit out for a bit before starting.
For a variation, you can substitute the chocolate chips with walnuts or leave them out entirely
