Preparation Time

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes

  • Chill Time: 6 hours (or overnight)

  • Total Time: 6 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

   For the Cake Layers:

  • 1 box (14.4 oz) graham crackers

  • 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant vanilla pudding mix

  • 3 cups cold milk

  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed

   For the Chocolate Topping:

  • 1 tub (16 oz) chocolate frosting
    or

   Homemade Ganache:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling:
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and cold milk until thickened (about 2 minutes). Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and creamy.

  2. Layer the Dessert:
In a 9×13 inch dish, arrange a single layer of graham crackers to cover the bottom. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the crackers evenly.

  3. Add the Second Layer:
Place another layer of graham crackers over the pudding, then spread the remaining pudding mixture on top.

  4. Top Layer:
Add a final layer of graham crackers to cover the pudding completely.

  5. Add the Chocolate Topping:

    • If using store-bought frosting, microwave it for 15–20 seconds until soft and spreadable, then pour and smooth it over the top layer of graham crackers.

    • If making ganache, heat the cream in a small saucepan until just simmering, then pour over the chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth. Pour over the cake and spread evenly.

  6. Chill:
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, or overnight. This allows the graham crackers to soften into a cake-like texture.

  7. Serve:
Slice into squares and enjoy chilled. Garnish with chopped nuts or chocolate shavings if desired.

With just a few ingredients and no oven required, it’s perfect for busy days, family gatherings, or satisfying a last-minute sweet tooth.
