Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosted Brownies

INGREDIENTS

BROWNIES:

• 1 ⅓ cup butter at room temperature

• 2 ⅔ cup granulated sugar

• 4 large eggs at room temperature

• 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

• 2 cups all-purpose flour sifted then measured

• 1 cup cocoa powder sifted

• ½ teaspoon salt

CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

• ¼ cup unsalted butter at room temperature, not margarine

• 8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature

• 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

• ½ cup cocoa powder sifted

• 3 cups confectioners sugar sifted

• ¼ cup heavy whipping cream

INSTRUCTIONS

BROWNIES:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and spray a 9×13-inch baking pan with non-stick spray.

2. In the bowl of your electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Beat in eggs and vanilla and mix until combined.

4. In a medium-size bowl, combine the flour, cocoa, and salt, then gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix together.

5. Spread into the prepared baking pan. The batter will be thick.

6. Bake for 27-30 minutes or until the top is dry and the center is set. Cool completely before covering or frosting.

CHOCOLATE CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

1. In the bowl of your electric mixer, beat the butter and cream cheese until smooth.

2. Add vanilla, then add the sifted cocoa powder and mix until fully incorporated.

3. Slowly add the heavy cream.

4. Add powdered sugar 1 cup at a time until fully combined.

5. Mix until mixed well. Evenly spread over the cooled brownies.

6. Cut and serve. Store extras in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
