Instructions:

Preparation: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.
Cake Mixture: In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Stir in rum, vanilla extract, coconut extract, and shredded coconut.
Baking: Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan. Bake for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Rum Syrup: While the cake bakes, make the rum syrup. Combine butter, water, and sugar in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer. Cook until the sugar is dissolved, then remove from heat and stir in the rum and coconut extract.
