Frosted Walnut Cream Biscuits

Frosted Walnut Cream Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Frosting:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2-3 tablespoons heavy cream (adjust for consistency)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Extra chopped walnuts for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Biscuits:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
    • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
    • Add cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Stir in the chopped walnuts.
    • In a separate bowl, combine heavy cream and vanilla extract. Slowly pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
    • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
    • Pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut it into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
    • Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
    • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Frosting:
    • In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, melted butter, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and thick. If necessary, add more cream to reach a smooth, spreadable consistency.
  3. Frost the Biscuits:
    • Once the biscuits are cool, spread the frosting generously over each one.
    • Garnish with extra chopped walnuts on top.
  4. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Serve these biscuits slightly warm or at room temperature. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea!
