Frosted Walnut Cream Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Frosting:
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2-3 tablespoons heavy cream (adjust for consistency)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Extra chopped walnuts for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the Biscuits:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add cold cubed butter to the flour mixture. Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the chopped walnuts.
- In a separate bowl, combine heavy cream and vanilla extract. Slowly pour this mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead it a few times.
- Pat the dough to about 1-inch thickness and cut it into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
- Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool slightly.
- Prepare the Frosting:
- In a medium bowl, mix the powdered sugar, melted butter, heavy cream, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and thick. If necessary, add more cream to reach a smooth, spreadable consistency.
- Frost the Biscuits:
- Once the biscuits are cool, spread the frosting generously over each one.
- Garnish with extra chopped walnuts on top.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve these biscuits slightly warm or at room temperature. Enjoy with a cup of coffee or tea!
