- 8 ounces (225g) mushrooms, sliced

- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups (480ml) beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Make the Salisbury Steaks:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty.
- Cook the Steaks:
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil.
- Add the beef patties to the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- Make the Mushroom Gravy:
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and onions, and sauté until they are tender and browned, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and onions, stirring to coat them.
- Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Add the Worcestershire sauce.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the gravy thickens, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine and Serve:
- Return the beef patties to the skillet with the mushroom gravy. Spoon the gravy over the patties and simmer for a few more minutes to heat through.
- Serve the Salisbury steak and mushroom gravy over mashed potatoes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
