Fried S’mores Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients:

Dough:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • Oil for frying

Filling:

  • 1 jar marshmallow cream
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chocolate spread
  • 1 cup graham cracker crumbs

Toppings:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Chocolate syrup

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Dough:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  2. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead gently for a few minutes.
  6. Roll the dough out to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  7. Cut the dough into rectangles or squares, roughly the size of a s’more (about 3×3 inches).

2. Assemble the Sandwiches:

  1. Spread a generous layer of marshmallow cream on half of the dough pieces.
  2. Top the marshmallow layer with chocolate chips or spread.
  3. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over the chocolate layer.
  4. Place another piece of dough on top to form a sandwich.
  5. Press the edges together to seal.

3. Fry the Sandwiches:

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Carefully place the sandwiches in the hot oil, frying a few at a time.
  3. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  4. Remove from oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.

4. Add the Toppings:

  1. While the sandwiches are still warm, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  2. Drizzle with chocolate syrup.

5. Serve:

  1. Stack the sandwiches on a plate for a dramatic presentation.
  2. Serve warm and enjoy the gooey, chocolatey goodness!
