Preparation Time

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes

  • Bake Time: 40–50 minutes

  • Cooling Time: 15–20 minutes

  • Total Time: Approximately 1 hour 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup buttermilk or yogurt

  • ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: zest of 1 lemon or orange

For the Glaze (optional but recommended):

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1–2 tbsp milk or citrus juice

  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a Bundt pan or tube pan with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking.

  2. Prepare the Batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients:

    • 3 large eggs

    • 1 cup of buttermilk (or plain yogurt)

    • ½ cup of vegetable oil or melted butter

    • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients:

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour

    • 1½ teaspoons baking powder

    • ½ teaspoon baking soda

    • ¼ teaspoon salt

    • 1 cup of sugar

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until smooth and lump-free. Do not overmix.

  3. Pour and Level
Pour the batter into the prepared Bundt pan, using a spatula to evenly distribute it. Gently tap the pan on the counter to release any air bubbles.

  4. Bake
Place the pan in the center of the preheated oven and bake for 40–50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  5. Cool
Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then carefully invert it onto a wire rack or serving plate to finish cooling completely.

  6. Optional Glaze (for a glossy finish)
    In a small bowl, mix:

    • ½ cup powdered sugar

    • 1–2 tablespoons milk or lemon juice

    • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake for extra flavor and shine.
