Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.

  4. Add the sour cream and milk, mixing until combined. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients, being careful not to overmix.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 2: Make the Frosting

  1. In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth.

  2. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla, and continue beating until fluffy and spreadable.

  3. Once the cake is completely cool, spread the frosting evenly over the top using a spatula, creating soft swirls for texture.

Step 3: Prepare the Caramel Drizzle

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it becomes a golden amber liquid, stirring constantly.

  2. Carefully stir in the butter and let it melt completely.

  3. Slowly add the cream and stir until smooth. Add a pinch of salt if desired.

  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 5–10 minutes before drizzling.

Step 4: Decorate the Cake

  1. Drizzle the cooled caramel sauce generously over the frosted cake.

  2. Press chopped nuts gently along the edge of the frosting to create a beautiful, crunchy border.

  3. Cut a slice, serve, and enjoy!

This Caramel Drizzle Cake isn’t just a dessert—it’s an experience. From the warm, spiced crumb to the rich cream cheese frosting and golden caramel finish, every bite feels like a cozy hug.
