- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar, divided
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease two loaf pans.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, 2 cups of sugar, and eggs until smooth.
- Add the buttermilk, flour, and baking soda to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the remaining 1 cup of sugar with the cinnamon.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pans, then sprinkle 3/4 of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.
- Add the remaining batter and sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
- Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon-sugar into the batter for a marbled effect.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
