Stovetop Flatbread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • ¾ cup warm water

Directions:

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. Stir well to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
  2. Activate Yeast: Add the olive oil and instant yeast to the dry ingredients, then pour in the warm water gradually while stirring.
  3. Form the Dough: Mix until the dough begins to come together, then transfer it to a clean, lightly floured surface.
  4. Knead: Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Rest: Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  6. Divide: Once the dough has rested, divide it into 4-6 equal portions, depending on the size of flatbreads you want.
  7. Roll Out: Roll each dough portion into a flat disc, about ¼ inch thick, using a rolling pin.
  8. Cook the Flatbread: Preheat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat. Place one piece of rolled dough into the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown spots appear and the bread puffs up slightly.
  9. Repeat: Repeat with the remaining dough portions.
  10. Serve: Serve the flatbreads warm. They can be enjoyed with dips, spreads, or as a wrap for various fillings.

You can also brush them with a bit of olive oil or garlic butter after cooking for extra flavor! Enjo
