Marshmallow Popcorn recipe

Ingredients:

  • 10 cups of popped popcorn (plain, unsalted)
  • 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 3 cups of mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1/2 cup of colorful sprinkles (optional for decoration)
  • 1/2 cup of mini marshmallows (for garnish, optional)

 

Instructions:

  1. Pop the popcorn: Start by popping your popcorn using your preferred method (microwave, stovetop, or air-popped). Set aside in a large bowl, making sure to remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt the butter and marshmallows: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the 3 cups of mini marshmallows. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth. If you want a hint of vanilla, stir in the vanilla extract now.
  3. Combine with popcorn: Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the popped popcorn in the large bowl. Gently stir with a spatula or spoon to coat all the popcorn evenly with the marshmallow mixture.
  4. Add sprinkles: Once the popcorn is fully coated, sprinkle in the colorful sprinkles and mix them through. The sprinkles add a fun and festive touch!
  5. Garnish and serve: For extra marshmallowy goodness, toss in additional mini marshmallows at this point, if desired. Let the popcorn sit for a few minutes to set. Break apart any large clumps, and enjoy!

 

Optional:

  • You can drizzle melted chocolate over the popcorn for an extra sweet kick.
  • If you want, add crushed graham crackers or candy bits for more texture and flavor.
