Pineapple Cheese Ball
Ingredients:
- 2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, softened
- 1 can (8 oz) crushed pineapple, drained well
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup crushed pecans or your choice of crunchy topping (like pretzels)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and drained crushed pineapple. Mix until smooth and well combined.
- Add the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped bell pepper, red onion, parsley (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until evenly distributed.
- Shape the Cheese Ball:
- Transfer the cheese mixture onto a large piece of plastic wrap. Gather the edges of the plastic wrap around the mixture and shape it into a ball or oval shape.
- Once shaped, wrap the cheese ball tightly in the plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Coat the Cheese Ball:
- Once the cheese ball is firm, remove it from the refrigerator. Unwrap it and roll it in the crushed pecans (or chosen topping) until it’s completely coated.
- Serve:
- Place the coated cheese ball on a serving plate. Garnish with extra parsley if desired.
- Serve with crackers, sliced vegetables, or fruit slices for dipping.
Notes:
- For a sweeter twist, you can add a bit of powdered sugar to the cheese mixture, or include additional pineapple tidbits.
- This cheese ball can be made a day ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
This Pineapple Cheese Ball is a perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors, making it a great appetizer for parties, gatherings, or holiday celebrations. Enjoy!
